mulled cinnamon apple cider cocktail

method
in a small saucepan, heat the apple cider over low heat until slightly warm, about 5 minutes. add 4 of the cinnamon sticks, the star anise, ground cinnamon, and ginger and stir to combine. increase the heat to medium high and bring to a gentle boil, then reduce the heat to low.
ladle into mugs or glasses straight from the pan. garnish with cinnamon sticks and a sprinkle of cinnamon. chin chin! :)
